# Web shops

> How a Geenius MVP web shop works: starting points, storefront, cart, hardened checkout, VAT for NL and DE, orders and what is not built yet.

A shop is a web app of kind webshop.

1. Create it from a starting point: bakery, boutique, florist, retail or vouchers.
2. Put products in the [catalog](/docs/catalog/).
3. Publish. A test shop is live in seconds.
4. Change settings with the kits: storefront, checkout, payments, tax, legal and orders.

## Checkout

Guest checkout always. The information the law asks for before the order, the terms and the order button in its legally required words. Every price, VAT amount and total is recomputed on the server.

## Orders

Numbered, with a state machine: awaiting payment, paid, ready or shipped, completed, cancelled, refunded. Each order keeps its line and consent snapshots and the terms version.

## Not built yet

Pickup slots with capacity, local delivery, customer accounts, file delivery as a kit and the EU withdrawal function.
