# Your own domain

> Connect a domain you own to a Geenius MVP site: the DNS guide, the status check and what depends on how the hosting is set up. Buying a domain is not offered.

Connect a domain you already own.

1. Ask for the **DNS guide** for the hostname. It does not connect anything.
2. Add the records at your registrar.
3. **Connect** the domain, then check its **status**: DNS and certificate.

## Depends on setup

Connecting a domain needs the hosting to be set up with a zone and a target. If it is not, the guide still works and the connect is refused with a reason.

## Not offered

Buying a domain for you. The journey exists in the code (create, quote, approval by the owner, buy, DNS, attach, check) and is switched off by default. We do not offer it.
